In exactly 150 days I will be 30. I will be considered old enough to be nearing the end of my career if I was a professional athlete, more than old enough to become a Father and little bit too old to go to Magaluf dressed as a Smurf. Before I embrace man boobs and going to Ikea every Saturday I have set myself thirty challenges to tick off. I will be happy to get to July 12th healthy and with all my limbs intact but if I can do this it may slow down my descent into middle age and crown green bowling. Have just worked out that it amounts to doing a challenge every five days so I had better get cracking. I will complete them in random order and try to record some video or photo evidence to upload on here. The challenges are:
- Do a sky dive
- Learn more about the middle east.
- Run marathon distance.
- Swim in Hyde park in speedos
- Write to five people I admire.
- Learn how to juggle
- Climb a British Mountain
- Sleep rough for a night.
- Do 5000 push ups in a week
- Run the 100m in less than 15 seconds
- Learn basic sign language
- Get an article published
- Grow something and eat it
- Learn one impressive magic trick
- Learn and remember the capital cities of 50 randomly selected countries.
- Bench press 100kg once
- Do something nice for someone who genuinely deserves it.
- Do a charity shop pub crawl
- Watch the godfather trilogy back to back
- Cook a three course meal and get marked on it.
- Learn one impressive magic trick.
- Hold a friends baby
- Get a good tattoo
- Give blood
- Host my own pub quiz
- Make a baked alaska
- Put a 50 quid bet on
- Make a video for my song male pattern bald
- Do some voluntary work
- Do a one hour stand up show based on this list
I ummed and aahhed about trying heroin but thought it would be a bit pricey. If you're reading this and can juggle, are up for climbing Ben Nevis or Snowdon, want to run a bit of the marathon with me or have a certainty for the bet give me a holla.
Thanks for reading, have a good Saturday. Slaters xxx

ReplyDeleteI used to give blood. I should give blood again. And when I do, I'd like you to bleed with me.

I really like what you write. Actually that's how I ended up here, I googled you. Congrats on the articles and the website is very nice too :)
ReplyDeleteHad you realised that 14 and 21 are the same?
ReplyDeleteAt 62, I've achieved nos, 2,5,8,10,12,13,17,22,24,26 and 29 and half done 3. Of course, that was all over a number of years. Good luck with your list and keep up with the blogging.
